The modern prosthodontics is based on minimal invasive approach, teeth are often in a non ideal position to be restored and this can lead to a more aggressive preparation or a more invasive treatment. Prosthetic treatment planning could be implemented with the help of orthodontics from the easier to more complex clinical scenarios. The goal of the presentation will be to show the prosthodontics and orthodontics connections and how a careful pre-treatment planning and the communication between specialist could improve the final outcome and make the workflow more efficient.

Non-surgical management of gingival contours in prosthetic and implant dentistry.
Irregular gingival contour is the main factor influencing smile aesthetic. In many cases a surgical approach can help us create a pleasant gingival scallopping, but in many others such approach may not be enough to achieve this.M.F. Extrusion Technique is a simple, fast and minimally invasive method of complementary orthodontic extrusion which can give a great aid in cases in which a surgical approach may not be sufficient. In prosthetic case it is possible to move the gingival level and contour at will (in the most aesthetic position) before the final restorative phase. It is also possible to regenerate bone in order to place implants. This is achieved by using the great regenerative potential of teeth being orthodontically moved (even the ones with poor prognosis, which will eventually be extracted). I can honestly state that not knowing this technique means not knowing the easiest and most effective mean of managing our restorative and implant cases.

Minimally Invasive Endodontics: modern techniques and new horizons.
In recent years we have heard a lot about minimally invasive Endodontics. The common point is the conservation of tissues, preferably preventing the disease and intercepting its progress, but also removing it with the least possible tissue loss. Today preparation of the root canal and its final shape, that is the cornerstone for adequate cleaning and three dimensional obturation, can be managed in a minimally invasive way thanks to modern Nickel Titanium mechanical endodontic intruments, new alloys and sequences that improve safety and efficiency in saving tooth structure when shaping canals.During my lecture I will explain the rational on how to use these instruments and I will show a predictable and reproducible protocol to achieve the goal of being effective in an easy way.

Modern endodontics: the importance of knowledge of anatomy, technologies and techniques.
If it is true that the anatomy of the teeth has always been the same since dentistry has born , it still represent today the greatest challange to be faced in endodontics. The same cannot be said about technologies that have evolved in the recent years and also the techinque available today to face all the various step of the root canal therapy: from opening the access cavity to scouting and shaping up to filling.A modern endodontics consist in an endodontic treatment planning not only for each single tooth but for each single root of each tooth. With some simple but fundamental rules it is possible today to increase the level of predictability, repeatability and success of the daily endodontics.

The Visuals Game: marketing, photo, video and emotions.
The use of these images in dental work today is a testimony of the changes that have occurred in this field in recent years. In fact nowadays photography is a fundamental tool in dentistry with an ever-increasing importance.Communication is the most important way to interact with a patient and it is also possible to reinforce this thanks to visual aids, because words alone are not enough unless accompanied by photos or videos. The use of images accompanies the patient throughout the prosthetic treatment plan, from the aesthetic analysis for the creation of the mock-up, to the intraoperative phases, up to the photos of the finished work; but it is precisely in the first phase of this path that photography, intended as a mix of technique, marketing concepts and video, will fully fulfill its function, that is to excite the patient to the point of convincing him to carry out the treatment.

Long-term follow-up of prosthetic restorations: the role of saliva and the interpretation of DMF-T index.
Is the restoration of compromised teeth the long-term solution for maintaining enamel healty? What influence does the oral environment of each individual have on the follow-up?Any prosthetic rehabilitation should not underestimate aspects such as the quantity and quality of saliva and the patient’s experience of caries. Knowing these characteristics and knowing how to modify them is the basis of the process of curing caries, the most widespread disease in the world.

Cervical Margin Recovery and Surgical Extrusion: how to deal with compromised teeth in posterior area.
In our daily practice we are very often facing with decayed and destroyed teeth with whom we can’t proceed directly with our adhesive restorations, but they require a surgical approach to reach the residual sound structure and to obtain a proper isolation and adequate adhesive and restorative procedures, including a facilitated impression phase when required. During the lecture all the perio-surgical techniques will be analyzed, each one with a precise indication for every single clinical scenario, and all the steps will be explained, from surgery to final restoration, in order to achieve a predictable outcome.

Discolored teeth in the aesthetic field: the combination of bleaching with direct and indirect adhesive treatments.
Nowadays the clinician is faced with the difficult challenge of covering discoloration sometimes quite severe. Currently we can use extremely predictable techniques of dental bleaching, allowing sometimes to avoid the covering discolored elements, achieving excellent results in terms of aesthetics and durability. The choice of extremely versatile products, together with the use of appropriate techniques, facilitates the clinician in cases of discoloration of medium severity. In contrast, in more complex situations, which require changes in shape, color and position, it is possible to use high-performance ceramic materials, in order to perform high aesthetic rehabilitations, however using minimally invasive procedures. The choice of the ideal ceramic ingot and on how to communicate to the lab the real abutment color are the new challenges: the color matching, with innovative systems, is very crucial not only for the ingot choice but also in terms of cementation, especially in case of thin restorations.

Immediate single tooth replacement in the esthetic area. Part 2/2
Immediate single tooth replacement in the esthetic area represents a very challenging procedure. What clinical and radiographical parameters should the clinician before planning an immediate post-extraction implant-based treatment plan in the frontal area? Is there a specific diagnostic, surgical and prosthetic protocol to be followed to avoid complications and obtain excellent functional and esthetic results? Starting from the scientific evidence and from his practical experience, the lecturer will answer all these questions, thus guiding the clinicians in the process of achieving the best outcomes.
